Leadership Development Program for Directors

Designed to enhance strategic vision and decision-making, this program equips executives with the tools to drive organizational transformation and financial innovation at the highest level.

Program Description

The CBE Leadership Succession Development Program is a cohort-based, executive curriculum designed to build a ready-now and ready-soon leadership bench. Five integrated courses Visionary Leadership, Executive Leadership, Organizational Transformation & Agility, Leading with Emotional Intelligence, and Continuous Improvement Processes equip participants to set direction, mobilize people, and deliver sustained enterprise results. The program blends research-based frameworks (including TMIF) with live case work so leaders convert strategy into measurable outcomes in their own organizations.

Delivered on the FUSE-SPS learning platform, the experience combines live virtual workshops, on-demand modules, peer labs, and targeted executive coaching for flexible, high-impact learning. Participants create a practical leadership portfolio vision narrative, stakeholder map, transformation roadmap, EQ development plan, and 90-day improvement agenda—culminating in a succession and transition plan that strengthens organizational continuity.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, particpants will be able to:

Set a compelling vision and strategy

Use future-back and outside-in analysis to craft a clear North Star, define the few strategic choices that matter, and convert them into a 3–5 year roadmap with a 12-month portfolio of bets. Apply executive storytelling to align boards, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.

Lead organizational transformation and agility

Diagnose current state across culture, leadership, knowledge management, organizational learning, and Agile mindset to design a future-fit operating model. Stand up value-stream teams, establish fast governance, and measure flow to accelerate strategic outcomes.

Elevate leadership effectiveness with emotional intelligence

Build self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and cultural/social intelligence using the TMIF lens. Practice high-stakes conversations, influence and coaching techniques, and leave with a personalized EQ plan tied to stakeholder goals.

Govern for value, risk, and accountability

ranslate strategy into OKRs/KPIs, portfolio guardrails, and decision cadences that balance innovation with execution. Implement dashboards, KPI trees, and risk controls so leaders can reprioritize quickly and communicate progress credibly.

Institutionalize continuous improvement at scale

Apply Lean/Agile methods—PDCA/A3 problem solving, standard work, visual management, and daily tiered huddles—supported by process mining and root-cause analysis. Create 90-day improvement roadmaps, control plans, and audit/refresh cycles to sustain gains.

What You Learn

This course will include knowledge checks at the end of each section/module, featuring multiple-choice questions, matching exercises, and short scenario-based questions to reinforce understanding and assess application of key concepts.

Course 1: Organizational Transformation and Agility

The Organizational Transformation and Agility course equips senior leaders to steer enterprise-level change that delivers measurable value. Grounded in research and real-world case studies, the program guides executives through diagnosing current state, clarifying strategy, and designing an operating model that aligns culture, leadership, knowledge management, organizational learning, and an Agile mindset.

Course 2: Leading with Emotional Intelligence

The Leading with Emotional Intelligence course helps senior leaders turn EQ into a strategic advantage that elevates performance, trust, and culture. Grounded in contemporary research and the Tessema Multiple Intelligence Framework (TMIF), the program builds mastery in self-awareness, self-management, empathy, social and cultural intelligence, and resilient decision-making under pressure.

Course 3: Executive Leadership

The Executive Leadership course develops the judgment, presence, and systems thinking required to turn strategy into sustained enterprise results. Executives refine their leadership narrative and decision cadence; strengthen board and stakeholder governance; and practice high-stakes communication, crisis navigation, and ethical, data-informed choices under uncertainty. The program integrates financial acumen with people and culture levers—succession and talent pipelines, accountability and incentives, and inclusive, values-driven leadership that advances sustainability and long-term value creation

Course 4: Visionary Leadership

The Visionary Leadership course enables senior leaders to imagine a bold, credible future—and mobilize their organizations to build it. Using future-back and outside-in thinking, participants master horizon scanning, scenario planning, and opportunity mapping to define a differentiated North Star and the few strategic choices that matter most. Leaders translate vision into action through a narrative and visuals that align stakeholders, plus a future-fit operating model that balances exploration and execution (ambidexterity), innovation governance, and clear success metrics.

Course 5: Continuous Improvement Processes

The Continuous Improvement Processes course equips executives to build a durable, enterprise-wide system for eliminating waste, reducing variability, and accelerating value delivery. Leaders learn how to connect strategy to operations through Hoshin/OKR deployment, translate priorities into value-stream targets and flow metrics, and run disciplined PDCA/A3 problem solving at every level.

Course 6: Coaching and Mentoring Skills

Coaching and Mentoring The Coaching and Mentoring Skills course equips executives to develop talent and succession pipelines by adopting a leader-as-coach mindset and building a scalable coaching culture. Participants master core capabilities deep listening, powerful questioning, goal contracting, and accountability—while learning when to use coaching vs. mentoring vs. sponsorship.

Course 7: Inspirational Leadership

course enables executives to turn purpose and strategy into momentum that people can feel and follow. Participants learn to craft clear, credible narratives and deliver them with executive presence—using storytelling frameworks (SCQA, ABT), message maps, and visual metaphors—while designing the rituals and recognition systems that sustain energy (all-hands cadence, shout-outs, “wins” dashboards).

Course 8: Organizational Culture Awareness

The Organizational Culture Awareness course gives executives a clear, practical lens to read, measure, and intentionally shape culture as a performance system. Leaders learn to diagnose artifacts, espoused values, and underlying assumptions (Schein), assess current vs. desired norms using the Competing Values Framework/OCAI, and map subcultures across functions, geographies, and hybrid teams.

Course 9: Agile and Adaptive Thinking

The Agile and Adaptive Thinking course equips executives to make fast, high-quality decisions in uncertainty and turn learning speed into competitive advantage. Leaders practice sense-and-respond methods—using Cynefin to match problem types, OODA loops for rapid iteration, and lightweight experiments (hypothesis → test → evidence → pivot/scale) tied to OKRs and flow metrics.

Course 10: Empowerment

The Empowerment course enables executives to build a system where people closest to the work own decisions, move faster, and deliver better outcomes. Leaders learn how to set clear intent (purpose, outcomes, constraints) and pair it with decision rights (RACI/RAPID), resources, and coaching so autonomy rises with accountability.

Course 11: Integrity

The Integrity course equips executives to turn values into daily decisions, behaviors, and systems that build enduring trust. Leaders learn to close the “say–do” gap through principled judgment under pressure, transparent communication, and incentives that reward the right outcomes, not just the fast ones. Using practical toolkits—Ethical Dilemma Triage (stakeholders/harms/options), a Values-to-Guardrails Canvas, conflict-of-interest registers, speak-up pathways and protections, third-party risk scoring, and evidence logs—participants design governance that prevents misconduct and surfaces issues early.

Course 12: Service Excellence

The Service Excellence course equips executives to build a customer-obsessed organization that reliably delivers effortless, memorable experiences across every channel. Leaders learn to translate brand promise into standards, service blueprints, and moments-that-matter—using journey mapping, Kano analysis, and VOC systems (surveys, transcripts, analytics) to prioritize fixes and innovations. The program blends design and operations: SLAs/SLOs, queue and capacity planning (Little’s Law), knowledge management, and Lean problem-solving for speed and quality, plus service recovery protocols that turn breakdowns into loyalty.
